Best in Fair alternate: Nick Casey: Got Drainage? What is the Best Way to Prevent Flooding? ![]() The four best in fair projects are invited to compete in the RI Science and Engineering Fair, March 26 and 27, 2011 at CCRI Warwick (Knight) Campus. The award ceremony for that competition will be held on Mar. 31. Geography Bee: Our Geography Bee took place among the 4-8th graders on Friday, January 28th. Our winners were: 1st Place: David Gillis (5th Grade) 2nd Place: Scarlette Schultz (8th Grade) David will be taking a written test to see if he'll compete in the State Bee on April 1st. Lynn Ryan Scholarship: It was my pleasure to be present at the 10:30 AM Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Sunday, October 10th, where our 8th grade student, Nick Casey, accepted a check for $500. Nick was chosen by Father Kiley to receive the Lynn Ryan Scholarship based on his academic record in grade 7 and his application of Christian values. We congratulate Nick, his family, his teachers and all who support Catholic education in our Diocese, especially the St. Francis parishioners who contribute annually to the Lynn Ryan Scholarship Fund.
