So You Think You Can Dance with the Teachers?


Congrats to Ms. Colleen Beirne (2nd grade teacher) and Mrs. Christine Desmarais (5th grade teacher) along with the 7th and 8th grade dancers for taking home the prize for the best dance, to Michael Jackson's Thriller!! All the teams worked very hard and were fabulous and helped to make this a very fun and entertaining night!





SPS Annual Golf Tournament


Thanks to everyone who participated and volunteered to make this fun event a success!






SPS Annual Walk-A-Thon

This fun and healthful event took place on April 30, 2010 and raised over $3,000.00!



Kindergarten Mother's Garden


The SPS Kindergarten class planted flowers again this year in the school's Mother's Garden honoring Mother Mary as well as all mothers. They raised over $500.00 and all of the proceeds went to benefit The Gabriel Project. Please check out the article from last year's Mother's Garden Here...



3rd Annual Vacation Bible School:

VBS 2010 is an exciting high seas expedition where we'll be "Exploring the Mighty Love of God."
When: June 23-29, 2010
VBS offers 5 half day sessions (9am-12pm) or 3 or 5 full day sessions (9am-3pm) for children 4 through HS. (Four year olds half day only.)

Spring Yard Sale

St. Peter School's Grounds and Garden committee are planning a yard sale on Saturday, June 19, 2010 to benefit St. Peter School. If you have any items you'd like to get rid of, please put them aside in anticipation of this event. Volunteers are needed! Please email Chris Collins or Cheryl Langevin if you are available to help out in any way.



SPS Egg Drop Contest:

Congrats to all who submitted an entry in the junior division, whose eggs did not crack!

Geography Bee:

Congratulations to Nicholas Casey (7th Grade) for representing St. Peter school on April 9th at Rhode Island College in the State Geography Bee. A big thanks to Mrs. Langlais for coordinating this year's Geography Bee!



Excelsior Book Award:

Congratulations to Sarah Langevin who won this year's Excelsior Book Award. This award, established 23 years ago by Mt. St. Charles Academy, is given during Reading Week to students who achieve good grades, display school spirit, and are involved in school/community/parish activities and athletics. Congratulations, Stephanie!



Science Fair Winners:

Congratulations to Sarah Collins, David Davtian, Emma Galvin, Levi Swanson, Nick Aubin and Maribeth Shaw who were voted Best in Fair and competed at the RI Science and Engineering Fair on March 27th and 28th! Nick Aubin, Maribeth Shaw and Levi Swanson received a 3rd Grant while David Davtian received a 2nd Grant as well as two special awards! Congratulations!

Lenten Operation Rice Bowl
Coordinated by Charlene Langlais. The Theme this year is Solidarity Will Transform the World.

Kindergarten raised the most during the Lenten season, and was the winner of the rice bowl basket for the upcoming year! The school as a whole raised close to $1000.00 during the Lenten season.

Sr. Mary Angelus 65th Anniversary


Over 400 friends, family and former students of Sr. Angelus gathered together on Sunday, September 13th to celebrate her 65th Anniversary as a Sister of Mercy!

Vacation Bible School 2009

Vacation Bible School 2010 was a big success! Please read the Rhode Island Catholic write-up about this fun, educational and rewarding program for the children of St. Peter's Parish.



St. Peter School Shaw's Rewards Program

Please help out the school by joining the Shaw's rewards program. All you need to do is register your Shaw's rewards card with the school ID and Shaw's will give a percentage of your purchases back to the school. It costs you nothing, but brings in a lot of revenue for the school. If you do not currently have a Shaw's rewards card, you can easily register online or register at your local Shaw's. In order for the school to benefit from the Shaw's rewards program, we ask that you please register your Shaw's Rewards card online, or send in you Shaw's Rewards number, and the school will register your card for you. SPS Book Recycling Program

The Monsignor John F. Cox Library at St. Peter School will soon be having its Annual Used Book Sale. We are seeking donations of children's books to add to our sale. All proceeds will go toward new books and magazines for the library and technology supplies.

Please send donations in by May 15, 2009.



SPS Uniform Recycling Program

Are your kids growing like weeds? Hate to buy brand new uniforms in the middle of the school year? St. Peter's Uniform Recycling program makes it possible to obtain and donate gently used uniforms.

For more info, please call the office at 401-781-9242 and leave a message with the size and style you are looking for or send a quick email to cpiperata@aol.com. One of our volunteers will check availability and send the requested item(s) home with your child or make the item(s) available for pick up in the school office.

St. Peter's Creche Program

St. Peter's Creche program is a baby-sitting service
and Pre-K faith formation program available during the
9:30 and 11:00 am Sunday masses from September through April.
The program is available for children 18mos. to 5 years.
You do not need to sign up--just drop your children off at the back door of the parish admin building before the masses. Questions? Please contact Margaret Andreozzi at 461-5691.
